LEGO Hero Factory Savage Planet sets on the way

The wait is finally almost over.

The Toys R Us website has been changing several times per day with products appearing and disappearing and changing in stock status.  Yesterday was the first time I saw the any of the Savage Planet series sets in stock, and I ordered all of the ones I could at the time.  Bulk and Rocka (normal size) were out of stock at the time I placed my order.  Stringer was listed as being "in stock," but the site wouldn't let me add it to my cart, saying there weren't enough (1) available to fulfill my order.

Today, Bulk, Stringer, and Rocka all appeared in stock again, which makes no sense as I highly doubt another batch arrived from Lego already.  Regardless, I have them on order now as well, though I had to pay twice for shipping thanks to the TRU site quirkiness.  Same thing happened to me when the Ordeal of Fire series was released, too!

As soon as the sets arrive, the videos and MOC-making will begin.  I actually wasn't able to mentally get into the theme of the fire villains and firefighter heroes, but the jungle theme excites me a lot and I look forward to dipping into the massive Bionicle parts archive to churn out a lot of Rahi, er, I mean, Savage Planet native fauna :)

LEGO Hero Factory July 4th tribute

I made these patriotic Hero Factory MOCs about a month ago, but didn't get a chance to post them up due to a tremendous backlog of work for other (non-LEGO) sites & YouTube channels of mine.  I'm finally starting to get caught up, and I'm happy to be able to unleash these two basic heroes as a July 4th tribute to the American soldier and victories against evil foes.

Lego Hero Factory MOC: Stormer XL (2.0 series)

While the US release of the Lego Hero Factory 3.0 series figures is rapidly approaching, I still have some 2.0 series MOCs yet to share.  Today I bring you Stormer XL.  I made this character just because I was dying to try out a large-sized 2.0 hero, and given Stormer's Alpha Team leadership position, he made for the perfect candidate.
This figure is about 11 inches tall and uses HF, Bionicle, Technic, and System parts all together.  The weapon is an UBEr Blaster (heh heh).  UBEr = Unbufferred Beryllium Ether.  When an enemy gets hit by a blast of this stuff, he gets chemically frozen, as if put in stasis.  No amount of heat will thaw him out -- it takes a special counteracting chemical process that's a closely-guarded secret of the Hero Factory.
Everything about Stormer XL is upgraded, including not only his gun, but his armor and targeting computer.  As I explain in the video, he has wing-like things on his back, but I'm not sure I want to say he can actually fly.  I prefer to look at those parts as just part of his uniform, something to make him look more respectable and important.

Lego Hero Factory Recon Team unboxing & review

My two Lego Hero Factory Hero Recon Team sets (boy that's a mouthful) arrived today at last.  I'm very impressed with the packaging and presentation, and especially with the custom instruction manual.  This is just great stuff.

For folks who didn't make an early order and were sad to hear that there would be a "special" piece included with early sets after Recon Team was delayed, you can relax.  The "special" piece is just a flame accessory from the 2.0-series villains.

Shameless LEGO MOC photo thief of the day

Today's report comes with some sad news and with some great news.  What's sad is that bedeimre from Belgium hasn't been tought that stealing is wrong.  He decided to take my photo of Blanko 1.9 and post it to the official Lego Hero Factory gallery as if it was his own creation.  Perhaps it's literally just a problem of education?  Perhaps these kids aren't criminals at heart, they just don't know better?  Spread the word on any Lego-related forums or communities you participate in.  If you blog, blog this.  Stealing is wrong.  Mm-kay?

Now for the good stuff.  Remember robo-G from my first shameless thieves post?  He's gone.  Well, at least all of his photos are gone.  It seems that while one person's report of a theft isn't enough to get Lego's attention, if enough people make a noise, the big company will hear.  Thus I extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you readers who contacted Lego to report robo-G's theft.  I truly appreciate not only your support, but the fact that you, too, believe that theft is not only wrong, but completely unacceptable, no matter who it affects.  Take a bow.  I salute you all!

Congratulations asdfhd for joining the prestigious ranks of copyright infringing scum choosing to attempt in vain to take credit for others' work rather than being a useful functioning member of existance and coming up with your own creations!  Cheers!
