LEGO Alien Conquest Mothership from 2011! set 7065

Alright, so I recently tried an older UFO-themed LEGO series, now for something the most recent incarnation, just 4 years back.

LEGO Technic Robo Riders "Power" from 2000! set 8514

Hmm, Robo Riders, eh?  The successor to Slizer / Throwbots, immediate predecessor to Bionicle.  What do you think?  To be honest, I think I was expecting a little more.

LEGO Star Wars original X-Wing from 1999! set 7140

Let the Star Wars celebration continue!  Here's a very nice specimen from the very beginning of the massively successful license with LEGO.

LEGO DC Super Heroes Plastic Man promotional minifig

This one's probably old news to most folks, but I just received it this week :)

LEGO city update Apr. 19, 2015 - Minecraft lights, train terrain

The fight continues -- the fight to create time to work on this city.  It went from empty room to bustling layout in just a few days thanks to all of the pre-built and pre-planned stuff, but since then making time to continue with custom work has been an uphill battle.  Time to accelerate!

Vintage LEGO King's Castle from 1984! set 6080

And here it is!  The big daddy/momma of the 80s, the grandest castle of them all for well over a decade of LEGO medieval-themed sets!

LEGO Simpsons KWIK-E-MART review! set 71016

This second LEGO Simpsons building set was released for LEGO VIP members yesterday and will be available to everyone May 1st.  This 2,179 piece set took me over 7 hours to build, and I love it.  The outside looks appropriate, but the inside is almost overflowing with the finest of details.  In my opinion, this is one of the best structure sets LEGO has ever made, in any theme.

LEGO City House review! set 8403 from 2010

A LEGO City... house?  Yep, the one & only.  Somewhat of an obscure set, even though it's not too old at all.

Vintage LEGO Knight's Castle from 1984! set 6073

With this, work on that massive haul of sets from Bricklink has officially begun!  I also picked up the flagship castle of the entire decade and will review it soon.  The little original yellow 1978 castle will be sourced at a later date :)

Mega Bloks Call of Duty Ghosts - Covert Ops Unit review

Mega Bloks fans have been getting antsy and asking every day why I haven't been reviewing new MB sets.  The answer is consistent: There haven't been any new MB sets!  Thankfully there was finally a break in the lull with this delightfully excellent little figure pack.

My next new Mega Bloks set review will be published the next time Mega Bloks releases a new set and I'm able to review it ;)

LEGO Bionicle Chibi Protectors of Stone & Jungle

Oops!  I publicized these on YouTube before here.  I'll make up for it by posting the full team wrap-up video here first (soon) for you kind & dedicated blog followers.

LEGO Elves - Azari's Magic Fire polybag review! set 30259

I'm a little late on this one, but I'm sure there are still a bunch out there, and hopefully they'll be made available in more ways & places.

LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 mild MOD

I absolutely could not stand how the original/official assembly of this thing looked nothing like the real-world car!  As I said before, it looked like an Aston Martin coupe, or some other front-engine tourer.  I won't be doing this with the other sets in the line, but I couldn't help changing this one a slight bit.

LEGO Racers Big Bling Wheelie truck from 2005! set 8658

LEGO Racers!  I haven't seen one of these since they were last in stores (which was quite some time after they were discontinued).  Picked this one up awhile back in a Bricklink haul, figured I'd share it.

LEGO Technic Front End Loader from 1992! 2-in-1 set 8828

Finally, my first older-generation Technic set, complete & reviewed!  This was missing the flex cable pieces, but those arrived in the last Bricklink haul to allow me to finish this up and also show the official alternate model.

LEGO Bionicle Chibi Protectors of Fire & Earth

Continuing with my chibi-fication of the 2015 Bionicle line, here are my first two Protectors.  The size had to be ridiculously small to have some sort of decent scale to my chibi Toa.  Thus I tried to make a CCBS-based Tohunga frame and hang Protector masks & weapons on them.  The scale is somewhat ludicrous for this building system and more limiting than I even imagined.

LEGO Duplo 2015 Cafe review! set 10587

Here's another recent Duplo set I picked up this past release season, but this one doesn't particularly impress me.

LEGO Atlantis Undersea Explorer from 2010! set 8080

Here's something from a LEGO theme I've only barely touched on in the past.  Rather than beating around the bush with more little auxiliary sets, this time I've gone for one of the big & memorable ones!

LEGO classic Space Police Sonar Security from 1993! set 6852

I may have completed my original classic LEGO Space collection, but there were plenty more later sub-themes & spin-offs, and I'm going to keep covering them!

LEGO Juniors Garbage Truck review! set 10680

This one's very, very clearly for the youngest fans, but it still manages to include a few interesting pieces for everyone.

LEGO Rock Slizer / Throwbot "Granite" from 1999! set 8506

I've gotten a lot of Slizer / Throwbot parts over the past half-decade or so, but this is my first time having a full official set assembled.  I quite like these!  There's something about their style that just feels very compatible with my tastes in sci-fi.

McFarlane The Walking Dead figure blind bag openings

It's quite a stretch to group these with other minifigures from brick-based construction toy series, but the buildings & terrain sets they go with are quite very compatible with LEGO & the like, so here we go...
