FAQ: How come [some products] used to be good but now they're just making them for money?

Q: How come [some products] used to be good but now they're just making them for money?

  • A: All products and services that are sold for money are sold for money, including the ones that you previously liked.  The "now they're just doing it for money" comment is terribly overused these days and used to create an insult to divert attention from reality.  You simply don't like the series anymore, and there's nothing wrong with that! Just say what you mean.  There's no reason to attack the morals of the company and its employees.

Q: But [some product] seems like just a money grab, how come?

  • Again, all products and services that are sold for money are sold for money, whether you like the value or not.  Remember the reason you have Internet access, a place to live, food, etc., because of people (yourself or your parents) working, generally for companies, for money, to pay for all that stuff.  The single largest expenses of nearly every company in the world are employee salaries and benefits (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.).
