Mega Bloks HALO MOC: Forerunner Epoch Guard

It has been a long time since I last built a Mega Bloks MOC; too long, in fact.  Finally I've broken the dry spell with a new non-canon custom creation that intends to be the very ancient inspiration for the Covenant Locust.  This 4-legged walker is a powerful sentry intended to last for countless millennia, and most will never even be activated.

MOC-making with Mega Bloks parts after an extended period of only working with LEGO feels like being reborn, or gaining an entirely new sense.  Many things that are difficult or downright impossible in LEGO are a one-step cinch with Mega Bloks thanks to some incredibly useful, exclusive pieces.

It's a double-edged sword, though.  There's no Mega Bloks equivalent of Bricklink or Pick-A-Brick, so if I need even just one more unit of a part, I have to buy an entire set with that piece.  If only one set had the piece in a given color, and that set is discontinued and rare, I'm left at the mercy of eBay seller markups.  As a result, many more of my design decisions are based on the limitations of parts in hand with Mega creations than LEGO.  An added challenge!

Hopefully some day it will be possible to order Mega Bloks parts online, through either the company directly or a third-party service!
