Final, official photos have been released showing the Series 4 LEGO Hero Factory hero figures (that we all formerly referred to as "4.0") Rocka, Furno, Evo, Surge, Breez, and the villains Black Phantom, Splitface, Thornraxx, Toxic Reapa, and Jawblade. Credits in the video:
We now have confirmation that some ball & socket "bone" pieces will be available in neon green, white, and the so-called "dark azure." Be sure to post up your thoughts in the comments!

Oh, and I almost forgot to add this, Vinyl Scratch on Eurobricks has said he can see that Splitface's neck is divided into two parts. I personally couldn't make this out from the pictures, but it is certainly possible. I'd love his head to be able to split (if not his whole body).

It's very strange... this is the first time that all preliminary photos (except BF pic) are the same that the official ones. And, it's just my opinion, but I think Black Phantom, apart of way good than the preliminary picture, looks a bit... "cartoony"? I don't know if you understand me...

ReplyDeleteAs many have posted before me the only preliminary picture that was changed was black phatom. Black Phantom is alot like fire lord. I have Witch Docter and I know that this guys leg design is a lot like fire lord's. Also the uses the same is head idea as fire lord, both use the cross holes on the side of the head for spikes. My favorite hero is breez because she has the largest melee blade and her shoulder armor. My favorite villian is Toxic Reapa because of the translucent green.

@Biodude- I think BP's spikes are on his helmet, not head. Evo and Nex never had 1.0 forms, as they were the first heroes created using he 2.0 upgrade.

ReplyDeleteEvo: LAME compared to all the others. Little armor, and ONE weapon, which appears in EVERY other set! His only worth is the Mask.
ReplyDeleteSurge: Not horrible, but not good. He could have used a bit of a taller stance, though.
Breez: I must say that for once, LEGO did not mess up Breez. She comes with a two sided "Samurai" blade, a gun, a shield, and ROCKET BOOTS! Nice.
Furno: Weird, but not bad. He is big, he has a gun, Good armor, and Water propellors? WTF. He goes up against Jawblade. WTF double.
Rocka: Nice, but a little messy. He has lots of cool parts, like a saw, gun, shield, a cool mask, and a BUNCH of other stuff, but a little "Weird"
Jawblade: Fail. He has a cool helmet, but that is all.
Thornraxx: Not bad, but Awkward. Just see for yourself.
Splitface: Weird
Toxic Reapa: NICE! He has stuff on his back, tons of translucent pieces, an AWESOME helmet, but is on the small side.
Black Phantom: Would have expected more, but not bad.

I actually like Thornraxx alot.
BP has greatly improved over the prelim version (although the changes are minor he looks alot better).
I think the heroes haven't got a lot of new pieces, and of course they haven't got exclusive weapons. Look at Furno, for example. Well, he has got two awesome turbines on his shoulders and it looks like a plane (:D); but he hasn't got his real OWN weapon; he just has got this triple attachment piece on his arm. Or Surge, who has got his original weapon in blue (it's a very good color, I must say). Or just Rocka! He has got the biggest gun ever! But the weapon is Furno 3.0's "bow", now in a real Shoot-Stuff (as JANG said). But is the same weary and repetitive Thornax launcher (Meteor Launcher, Lava Sphere Launcher, whatever). The designers, as in Savage Planet, have been more imaginative and creative with the villains.

Rocka: His mask looks like the Ignika merged with Kopaka's mask. Too many weapons. But still cool.

Black Phantom: I would really like it if he was completely black.

Toxic Reapa: I like the transperant pieces ad the use of lego bricks. His mask looks like Jang's MOC QUADRO.
Thornraxx: Is he controled by Witch Doctor or something! He has a Quaze spike!
Jawblade: The only new piece is the head!
I will be picking some of these up. Like Surge and Reapa.

I might just be seeing things, but it looks like Rocka and BP's heads are DARK green. Not the the yellow-green we've seen before, but a NEW COLORED HEAD!!! That would be awesome for MOC making. Oh, and my wish list is:

I think that Rocka uses the old trans-lime head... But BP has a dark green (or trans?) one for sure! And I think Evo is more of a samurai. :D Oh and LAZERSHARK.
ReplyDeleteFront on Eurobricks has said that the Shadow Matoran foot piece on Reapa has been redesigned to fit the newer (2.0) ball joints. And if you look closely you can see that the Thornax launcher piece has been slightly redesigned to fit better on the four-fingered hands.
Toxic Reapa does not have a Thornax launcher.

once I'm done with this project I'm off to by Joker. Using some pearl black/gun metal with his purple and a few recon pieces would be amazing. He would my strongest villain yet.

Powerful carvers laser. I think it's interesting that some of the villains are trying to reach planets, possibly homeworlds. Kinda cool.

ReplyDelete@Anonymous (61st comment)- Yeah, that's why I'm hoping for black versions of these same cores next wave (even if next wave's heroes are not in the same style as this upcoming one's).However, chances are Stringer will be featured next wave, so black on black might not work so well. Now I think the heroes will probably have white cores again next wave- the cores are part white and part dark bley, so a white core on Stormer would maybe look a little better than a black one on Stringer. And BTW, these aren't technically called the 5.0's, just that they are the winter 2012 sets.

My guess is that their water based, because of Furno's "Watery jet" and Jawblade. How can Jawblade go to space if he is "Giant Tadpole".
@Anonymous (64th comment)- We were discussing what we think will be in the wave after this, the so-called 5.0 heroes, but it wouldnt be called 5.0 because the upcoming sets are not 4.0 sets. You can call them that if you want but they are just "winter 2012" sets now.

As to how Jawblade achieved space travel to reach his home planet Scylla, he probably stole a spaceship (he does have arms), or even more likely, they'll leave that completely unanswered. :/
So yeah, they split up to catch each villain. That's pretty much it.
I do not think Jawblade knows how to fly a spaceship...

Yeah, Evo's background looks like a jungle.
I think Splitface's black side's foot is gunmetal gray! I think Evo's are aswell.
Also, if Rocka's background looks like the assembly tower, that would mean that he fights Splitface, bacause in the description it said he is scrambling the communications of Hero Factory. It means his in the tower(I think). But it does make sence for Rocka to be gion up against Black Phantom.
OK i will be happy if this is HF's last year..i have over 100 sets so my parents want me to stop buying them....if this isnt their last year..and the new year after 2012 is even better...im gonna get PISSED!!!! but the ones i wanna get are:

Alright, a few things-
ReplyDeleteI don't get why people call Reapa 'Corroder on steroids' or similar names- I mean, Corroder's bigger and bulkier than Reapa is.
Next thing! New pics have been found. Only a few though- and again, I don't know how to link to the pictures. However, links can be found on the Eurobricks 'Hero Factory 2012' thread.

5 Evo, I honestly think he could be alot cooler, and I'm not a big fan of the jungle theam.
4 Surge he is better than evo by a longshot but I would like it if he was a bit bulkyer.
3 Breeze I know i want surge bulky but she is just too bulky but I love the weapons.
2 Furno love the idea of furno going under water because it makes a challenge for him
1 Rocka I liked the 3.0 rocka but this guy is absolutely epic I love the crossbow machine gun idea. Rocka is EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

A: No, they aren't. If you saw the movie "Ordeal of Fire", Evo and Nex were the first heroes to be "born" with the new 2.0 system. So, technically, Evo never had a "1.0" form.
As for Rocka, if you saw Savage Planet, it says he was "born" with the 2.0 system. So he never had a "1.0" version, either.
