LEGO Chima 70011 Eagles' Castle set review!

One more Chima set review for y'all.  This may be the last I do until the so-called "Spring 2014" sets start to hit stores!

Nanoblock Praying Mantis set review

Trying yet another new (to me) brand here.  It looks just like LEGO on a much smaller scale, but it's actually quite a significantly different experience for some very subtle reasons.

Mega Bloks Halo Covenant Revenant Attack set review

Still going with the Halo stuff!  This set is now discontinued, but is still in a lot of stores out there and pretty interesting.

LEGO Friends City Park Cafe set review, with bonus

It has been a little while since I last reviewed a Friends set so I thought I'd fix that right quick.

As a bonus, here's one my standard go-to type of bonus, a LEGO collectible minifig mystery bag opening :)

Minifig-scale LEGO Minecraft!!

My daily visit to my favorite LEGO site in the world, Brickset, yielded the very best LEGO news of the year (in my opinion).  LEGO is finally going all-in with Minecraft and developing minifig-scale MC sets.  It's about time. Minecraft has been around for too long with everyone who's unfamiliar with it calling it "basically LEGO."  The micro-scale sets are very cool, but minifig-scale is what we have needed from the beginning.  Now it's going to happen, and all of us can help shape how it happens, right here:

Finally!!  Be sure to follow their page and give feedback on figure & set design!

JANGBRiCKS LEGO parts collection tour! Part 2

Video #2 of X in this behind-the-scenes series!

I'll try to keep them shorter from now on.  I should have just done one column worth of trays and then stopped :)

LEGO Halloween faire 2013 scene complete!

I did it!  Got this done last night, just in the nick of time!  The whole thing was built over the span of a day with zero advance planning and no time for experimentation, enhancement, or rebuilds!  It was a ton of fun though and I'm very happy with the result.

Hopefully life will allow me more time for an upcoming winter theme!

Halloween scene complete (teaser)

Above is a small grainy cutout of a fraction of a cel phone pic I snapped this evening of my completed Halloween scene that took over the entire park area in my LEGO city.  I almost can't believe I got it done in time.  There was no time to plan, no time to experiment; I just built, and built, and built.

I hope to publish a video tour of it before trick-or-treat begins in the US :)

Halloween prep: A vehicle MOC and custom minifigs!

Halloween is right around the corner and I'm in a mad dash to put together something related to the theme in my LEGO city.  Given how little time remains, I fear that I won't do anywhere near as much as I would have liked, but here's what I've started with:

• LEGO custom old-time bus MOC
• LEGO Halloween custom minifigs: Kids!
• LEGO Halloween custom minifigs: Adults!

Mega Bloks Halo exclusive Warthog EVA's Last Stand edition

I finally did the transplant to make this thing whole last week, and oh, how happy I am with the outcome.  I knew I would like it, but I didn't know it would look this good.
