LEGO Voltron 21311 reviews

I enjoyed the original American(ized) Voltron TV series in its original run in the 80s, cherished my one piece of related merch (a coloring/activity book), and longed for the toys.  A couple decades later, I finally got one of the toys.  After still another decade, the GoLion series got its first really worthy follow-on, the Netflix-exclusive reboot, and I found myself shopping for another collectible to display just before LEGO picked this set to produce through the Ideas system.  I couldn't have asked for better timing!

LEGO Ideas Voltron full video review

Voltron is yet another subject matter I was enamored with for a period of my childhood!  I watched as many episodes of the show as I could back then, but for merch I only got a coloring book, but I stared at the big combination 'bot toys at stores with wanting eyes.  As a young adult I sought out a used form of one of the better vintage toy sets and I have that on display to this day.  With the recent (and dramatically better) reboot of the animated universe on Netflix, I've found myself wanting a second display model to bolster my collection.  Well, thank you, LEGO, for making the shopping process rather easy.

LEGO Ideas TRON: Legacy set review! 21314

These aren't the Light Cycles of my childhood, but they're pretty nice regardless (and probably recognizable to a lot more of today's LEGO fans).  The minifigures and printed parts in general are very impressive to me, but let's see if the value of the entire set holds up against the retail price.

LEGO Ideas Women of NASA review! set 21312

The latest Ideas set has hit the streets and it's another one that I was disappointed to see picked at the expense of, in my personal opinion, more substantive and exciting 10,000 vote winners in its review period.  However, with product in hand, I find this set to be actually really, really nice.  As usual my main interest is in the builds, but I can't help but take note of the excellent design work done on the figures.

There does, though, remain that controversial sociopolitical undertone here, and with an audible "gulp" I made the decision to address it head-on at the end of my review video, with my unfiltered personal feelings.  Surely this will drive my subscriber count down since many people cannot accept anyone else having an opinion, but I think it's very much worth it.  I choose my battles very carefully, but that doesn't mean I don't fight.

LEGO Ideas Caterham Seven review! 21307

There are a lot of LEGO fans who rejoice whenever something squeezes through the Ideas system without attachment to a licensed theme.  This, however, is very much another licensed product, with Caterham itself pledging support in the early phases and surely contributing some votes to make the set a reality.  It's a good thing, though, as this is a beautiful model that I'm sure will be widely appreciated on the market.

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who set review! 21304

Whovians were able to rejoice for minutes last night and hours this morning before the first batch of official LEGO Ideas Doctor Who sets sold out!  Hopefully plenty of folks who wanted these got them, and more will be stocked soon.

See the LEGO Wall-E official neck fix in action

Brickset reported overnight that LEGO published an updated Wall-E instruction manual that includes a long-awaited fix for the free-swinging neck.  I went ahead & implemented the fix on my own set to show you all how it works.

It's quite a simple rebuilt done with very ordinary parts and it barely changes the external appearance of the model.

LEGO Disney Pixar Wall-E set build & review videos!

Yet another highly popular licensed subject made it through the LEGO Ideas system to become a real set.  I'm not mad at it, though; this was a perfect thing to LEGOify!

LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory set 21302

I don't know The Big Bang Theory.  I don't like The Big Bang Theory.  I don't want to know or like The Big Bang Theory.  I know I wanted this set, though, and I like it.

LEGO Ideas Birds review! set 21301

It's always a pleasure to see another product come out of Ideas, even more so this time.  "Veep!" (A House Finch's affirmative/positive phrase.)  "SEE-rr" (House Sparrow's equivalent of the same.)

LEGO Ideas 21110 Research Institute Review!

Formerly known as "The Female Minifig Project" and having failed to make it to production in the LEGO Cuusoo days, this one returned under mysterious & controversial circumstances to become an Ideas-branded set.  Drama notwithstanding, it's a very nice set, and I'm happy to share this look at it:
