LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced Prototype review! set 75082
My first 2015 LEGO Star Wars set review, this one continues into the SW: Rebels subtheme.
I just wanted to let you know that I agree with you about a TIE Advanced Prototype not looking like Darth Vader's TIE Advanced X1. I Also didn't think the 8017 Darth Vader's TIE Advanced set really looked all that great. So I kitbashed the two together to MOC one set that looks more like Darth Vader's TIE Advanced X1. The half-saucer pieces from the old set and the rest of the rear end of the fighter actually fit together with the cockpit and solar panel pylons of the new set with little modification! The solar panels from the old set will fit onto the new set's pylons with a bit of modification. After that it's just greebling and details. I also added a small compartment under the rear with opening hatches to stow Vader's light saber as I didn't really care for the little clip piece that held it on the underside. I feel like that's the easy way out and obviously not very realistic. Anyway just thought you'd like to know someone agreed with you about that and did something about it! Thanks for the great videos! Keep it up!
