I've made a few posts in the past regarding the petty criminal act of plagiarism (taking other peoples' work and publishing it as your own), but the problem sadly persists.
Thankfully readers like you reported the following LEGO Hero Factory gallery users who had stolen photos of my MOCs of Specter 2.0, The Drone, Blanko 1.9, Ruze 2.0, Alba 2.0, QUADRO, Bulk 2.0, and Stringer 2.0:
- matthewtom01
- julianbw
- josephkeung994
- rexdraco99
- m1970arcelo
- patrirck0079
As of this moment, all of these copied materials have been deleted off the face of the planet by LEGO and YouTube!
As I've stated before, and as should be well-known by everyone, copying other peoples' work is immoral, unethical, and illegal. It is bad. Do not do it. You will get caught. You will be punished. You will be shamed.
To everyone who reported these criminals, I thank you soundly, and encourage you to continue your vigilance! When you see that someone has been wronged, you should say something about it to the people who are affected and/or those who can do something about it. Together, we will at least keep the LEGO world clean and honest, so we can spend most of our time having fun with our sets and/or making MOCs!
Update: Added one more to the list, patrirck0079!
PS: I want to be clear that making a LEGO creation that looks like someone else's is not wrong or bad. I welcome anyone at any time to duplicate any of my MOCs if you so please, without asking permission. That's fair game, just don't try to take credit for creating the original design. In other words, give credit where credit is due, just like you'd want me to do if I copied one of your MOCs. It would be messed up if I copied your work and posted it like I came up with the idea, right? What the folks listed above did wrong was to actually copy my own photographs that I took with my camera, and use them as their own, and in some cases they added insult to injury by even coming up with new names & backstories.
your mocs are awsome! but if someone is sealing them, don't get to angry, it just means they look up to you :)
ReplyDeleteIm pretty sure the guys posting your stuff on the Lego gallery are just children that wanted to share it. Did you check their age on their profile? They don´t understand that with their age.
ReplyDeleteOf course, taking other peoples stuff and publishing it as your own is a bad thing. But children just don´t understand that when they´re young.
you(theifes) have been PWNED by the lego group and youtube. EPIK PWN!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! we(the ppl) are awesome

ReplyDeletehttp://messageboards.lego.com/en-US/showpost.aspx?PostID=3764590
if I made MOC's and a theive stole it I would stick straws up their noses and kill them with a shotgun!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this happened to you, I hope you're able to reupload all that material. Could you try watermarking your photos and videos? I know it might mess up the picture quality, but at least a giant "LEGOJANG" shows it's yours.
ReplyDeletesorry man, but I do not take pitty on the fools who stole your work. its illegal and they suck.
ReplyDeletewheres the mechette when you need it?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 9th comment< he just talked about stealing and stuff, and you asked him to make an evo 3.0! What the?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Youtube member Meltdown200 is using the names of Legojang's MOCs! He used Wolf, Cyrix, Lennick, and Breacher. He also made a moc called "Wolf 3.0" and its animal power was a RILOVIAN BLUE FOX! He also made a moc called Shadow 3.0 and its animal power was a DAWNSCYTHE BAT! This guy is stealing names and concepts from your MOCs! SHAMELESS THIEF!
ReplyDeleteAlso, there is something hilarious on YouTube that some people may think is "shameless thievery", but you can't call it that, because the "thief" is a little kid! YouTube member duhone posted a video about a review of "Stringer 2.0". He opened his review by saying, "Hey guys, this is Jang here from the unofficial Lego Hero Factory MOCs blog and Bionicle Untold, and this is a review of Stringer 2.0!" Actually, he was reviewing the original Stringer, but I actually found this funny! He must have been watching Jang's Stringer 2.0 video before his review.
ReplyDeletewould it be stealing your MOC's if someone made their own version of it? Because on the Custom Hero Factory Wiki, a couple of people made their own versions of Specter 2.0 and Alba 2.0. Alba is exactly the same, while Specter has slight modifications. They do mention though that you originally made them, so is it stealing?
ReplyDeleteAlba: http://customherofactory.wikia.com/wiki/Jessica_Alba
Specter: http://customherofactory.wikia.com/wiki/Thomas_Specter
There is someone on Blogger going by the screen name LEGOJANG2. I looked at his blog and he is a totally different person than Jang. Jang already warned him that his account will be removed for impersonation if he doesn't change his name. Who's with me that LEGOJANG2 should get a name change or get the boot?
ReplyDeletewhat sick people would do such a thing!?
ReplyDeleteJang someone stole your pic of stormer xl!
ReplyDeleteJang, on the Hero factory gallery, go to most voted creations, you will see someone stole your pic of GREED! THE VILLAN YOU CAN't take seriously, and renamed it as blaster 4.0!
