This trainstation is sorry to say, just a more simplistic and cheap version of the older 12 volt era 7822 trainstation. I know which I would choose to buy, and its not this one. If you look at the pieces between them, how the stairs are made and which you said, there isnt a really clear station in it self since it has no main building, which the 7822 has. Call me nostalgic, but I think aside from the power functions and Technic advancements, there hasnt been any real improvement of lego aside from when they skipped the really weird era during the late 90's when cars had no doors and green windows. The best is still from the late 70's to the mid 90's.
