LEGO Star Wars 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer reviewed

Here's my review of the latest LEGO rendition of this most iconic Imperial capital ship.  This is only the third time they've made one large enough to physically fit minifigs inside.  It's only the second of this general size, the first being #6211 from 2006.  The UCS version from 2002 is of course in a completely different class.

Official set description from LEGO:
Get inside one of the Imperial fleet’s most destructive vessels!
Experience the power of the Empire! The Imperial Star Destroyer™ is the signature vessel of the Imperial fleet. Turn the rear handle to aim the 8 synchronized cannons and unleash the spring-loaded shooters mounted on the superstructure. Remove the top to reveal the stunningly detailed interior with never-before-seen Emperor Palpatine hologram, rotating chairs for the crew, weapons rack, bridge, control panel and more. Recreate scenes featuring the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader™ from the classic Star Wars movies with this iconic model and use the lifting handle for enhanced play and easy transportation.

  2. I second Jangs statement about size becoming a statussymbol. A two meter long star destroyer accomplishes nothing in terms of playability or scale. I like sets which offer ingenious play features. And this set seems to have nice details and playability. So lego nailed it once more.
