Finish line is in sight for another leg of the race

On May 11th, I posted my first proper Summer 2014 LEGO set review to kick off the big release season.  In the short time since then, I've published over 90 additional reviews, plus about 30 other videos of MOCs & hauls & comparisons & such.  Never before, in my entire life, have I produced so much work product so quickly.

In these 5 weeks & change, viewers like you have watched a net of over 3,600 weeks (around 70 years) worth of construction toy video footage from me, and attention rates (how long folks stay watching each video) are the highest I've ever seen them. This week we passed 100 million total views, and statistical aggregation sites now report that y'all are watching my videos fully twice as frequently as the next similar channel on YouTube.

The work has been difficult, and I've even pulled some true all-nighters along the way, but every single indicator is telling me to just keep it up.  Best of all, even though I'm putting a tremendous amount of effort into this stuff, I'm still enjoying it and looking forward to what's next.

This evening I filmed reviews for the last batch of Summer 2014 products I had on hand.  There are still two more series of LEGO sets yet to come (Hero Factory & Friends), and Mega Bloks will add almost 30 sets to the queue with exciting new Halo and Call of Duty releases.  Nevertheless, I see light at the end of the tunnel, and it is rapidly getting brighter.  Calmer times are coming again; times to disassemble sets, sort parts, and best of all, go absolutely bonkers making MOCs!  W00t!

  1. Hi JANG. I'm one of your subscribers. I just want to say even though I don't watch many megabloks reviews (not too interested in the sets), I still watch almost every single video of yours, and I really appreciate all of the hard work that you put into everything you do.

  7. Jang you are a machine. I actually just got into Mega Bloks Halo & CoD a few months ago after feeling a little underwhelmed with the current Lego lines and found your youtube channel. You're my go-to now instead of the Brick Show. I'd love to see some sort of magazine-style interview with you to find out more about how you got to where you're at with what you do! Also, I'm surprised at how few ads you have in your videos. I think you should be paid for the quality time you put in and I for one wouldn't be averse to seeing more ads for the quality of work you put out. Cheers -Trevor

    1. I gotta say I was the same as you, a fan of the brickshow until I stumbled upon the real deal aka JANGBRICKS.. there are few instances that I turn to the BRICKSHOW now, its only when I am absolutely bored and already seen exactly everything of JANGs.

Not to discredit the BRICKSHOW. They are cool, I just think they were better in the beginning but JANG blows out the competition, they stand no chance.

      All hail the JANG!

  8. Hello Jang,
I've been religously following your meticulous reviews for a long while now, since I'm a huge AFOL and LEGO building is one my true passions in life since I was a little kid, and let me tell you, your presentations are not only adequate and properly conducted in a perfect manner without sounding robotic or exaggerated, but also informative, fun and entertaining to watch.
I believe I'm in the same age group you're in, and I've discovered that you live in the same area (SF) that I live in as well, so if you would like to meet one day over a drink and chat, let me know. You can find me on Flickr by the alias DarkkosiS.

    Ciao

    1. Such awesome builds you got Joseph, looking at your flickr. Very very cool stuff. Hopefully you and JANG can share ideas with each other.

      Best wishes,

    2. Thanks for the kind words LhD, however those builds are way too old (between 11-7 years ago), and I've stopped uploading MOCs and ideas due to my crazy work schedule while my LEGO collection kept getting bigger and bigger. Hopefully in the coming months I'll be starting new projects that I might be happy enough with to share with the public and the community again.

      Cheers

    3. For real, looking forward to it. You have some serious talent. I myself, although coming out of the dark ages 2 and a half years ago, have still not yet been able to pursuit my LEGO passion to the max with building and all due to constraints of various forms. Soon enough! I'm gonna continue looking at your flickr, very inspirational!

      Thanks!

  9. Hey Jang, I don't usually comment on the Blog but I felt like this deserved it.

I always love these update-style blog posts and I think you completely deserve all the attention you're getting. You have a truly commendable attitude and worldview.

I've been watching all every single one of your videos for a few years now (minus a few that I have zero interest in such as Disney Princesses) and I'll stick by you until you become the most popular LEGO builder/construction toy reviewer on YouTube (and beyond). You certainly deserve it.
