LEGO Hero Factory MOC: Lorne 2.0 (Self-MOC)

I made my first self-MOC, Lorne, almost a year ago with a Bionicle theme, actually after Bionicle itself was discontinued for good.  I still have Lorne but have begun slowly disassembling most of my remaining Bionicle MOCs for parts to begin a new push to build more Hero Factory MOCs faster than ever and using Bionicle parts without fear.  Thus, the time came for a Hero Factory themed self-MOC, so here he is now, Lorne 2.0:

Awesome. Good job recreating the original Lorne's color scheme with the blue highlights, and awesome new version of the weapon arm. Now if only there were blue skeleton pieces... None yet though.

And I hate to say it but... Called it!

(Lorne 3.0 please? And a 2012 version... But I'm getting ahead of myself!)

  2. Nice! I also like how you showed off to your haters on the "without fear" part. I mean, not to offend, but the original Lorne will always be better. I just like titans, I hope it did not offend you.

  3. Haha cool, I think you should make a villain self MOC too! I'm not saying that you're evil, it would just be cool.

  6. @Anonymous: Thornraxx's "blue" bone elements are actually the teal-turquoise color seen in 2001 sets, namely one of the Tarakava and the Kongu Tohunga set. But, there will be blue skeleton pieces in next year's Batman set from Lego Superheroes.

    1. It is one of your mocs that you like the most or is the most like you in looks or personality.

  11. Adding armor on the backside of the new skeleton-bodies was a difficult issue from the beginning. Seems to me like LEGO never found necessary to pay attention to this *sigh*.
Just in the series 4 release was a change about that. I wish the designers had put a pinhole in the center connecting-ball of the bodyframe, that would allow so much more possible attachments in an easy way, but unfortunately they didn't. I usually work with lasersword-pins and small connector-pegs, sometimes it's possible to put an extra voodooball with a crossaxle/peg-connector in place...sometimes. But in the end it's not very satisfying, even the Rocka 4.0 solution is good, imho, because i normally refuse to use armorpieces of the same shape like the feet in the same MOC. Feet are feet, armor is armor, else it will look strange, somehow. But if you are already dying parts, perhaps you will find a decent, hidden way to mod a part itself to fix this. I don't like rubberbands either...
But...the "transformation" of your self-MOC into HF is really great. Wow. Amazing. Sad thing original Lorne has gone to the recycling-plant, he was like an uncrowned king of MOCs to me...

  12. Hey Jang, have you ever thought of combining herofactory and bionicle? (biofactory)
